The Tigers certainly showed their claws!

Mizzou Softball beat Georgia with a 5-2 victory over the Bulldogs. Offensive power with solid pitching dramatically took down Georgia on Friday night.

University of Missouri senior Kelsea Roth and junior Sami Fagan each clutched home runs while junior Emily Crane also went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Sophomore Tori Finucane scooped up her 12th win of the 2015 campaign. Finucane tossed 4 innings and freshman Paige Lowary entered in relief during the fifth inning and threw three solid innings to clinch the win.

Mizzou answered quickly after a Georgia run in the bottom of the first with a home run from Roth. The Tigers took a 2-1 lead in the second when Kirsten Mack hit home after an errant throw.

The deciding at-bat of the contest came in the fifth inning. Following Crane’s second single of the game, Fagan hit a home run. The two-run shot pushed the Tigers ahead 4-2.

The Tigers increased their lead at the top of the seventh frame with Fagan at-bat. After a single from junior Kayla Kingsley and an error, Fagan collected her third RBI of the game.

In the end, the Mizzou Tigers proved victorious and ended the game, 5-2.
